Genital Aesthetic Courses
Genital aesthetic operations involve a range of both surgical and non-surgical procedures and represent a new subfield of medicine. In Turkey, genital aesthetic courses were first introduced in 2015 by Associate Professor Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ.
Genital aesthetics for women is also recognized as the field of "Cosmetic Gynecology." This emerging field is of interest not only to gynecologists but also to plastic surgeons, urologists, urogynecologists, and dermatologists. Additionally, non-surgical aspects are within the scope of general practitioners and medical aesthetic physicians. The remarkable rise in global patient demand has led many doctors to pursue genital aesthetic courses.
Since genital aesthetic surgical procedures are not typically part of obstetrics and plastic surgery residency training, certain institutions and associations have been working to fill this gap with specialized training.
ISAGSS and Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ
Founded by Associate Professor Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ in 2017, ISAGSS (International Society of Aesthetic Genital Surgery and Sexology) is an international organization that supports doctors with training primarily in Istanbul and other regions worldwide. Over 1,000 physicians have participated in ISAGSS courses, receiving hands-on training.
ISAGSS, led by Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ, has provided hands-on training in countries such as Austria, Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and India, as well as Turkey.
ISAGSS and Its Firsts
ISAGSS is the only organization in the world that combines aesthetic gynecology and sexology. Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ is also among the pioneers of cosmetic gynecology globally and the first doctor to provide this type of training in Turkey.
The Term "Cosmetic Gynecology"
Although many physicians associate genital aesthetics with terms like “cosmetic gynecology” or “aesthetic gynecology,” this field also includes various functional procedures. Conditions such as lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, menopause-related complaints, pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, and sexual dysfunction are among the functional treatments. For this reason, the term "cosmetic and functional gynecology" is more appropriate, as the procedures aim to improve both aesthetics and functionality.
What Do Our Genital Aesthetic Courses Include?
Our genital aesthetic courses are intensive, three-day programs covering various surgical and non-surgical procedures. Labiaplasty (for both inner and outer labia),vaginal tightening (surgical vaginal rejuvenation),perineoplasty, hymenoplasty, and fat removal and injection procedures are some of the most frequently requested and sought-after surgical techniques. These form a major part of the ISAGSS courses.
Non-surgical procedures include laser vaginal rejuvenation, treatments for urinary incontinence, genital radiofrequency treatments for sexual pleasure and orgasm, genital PRP, O-shot, and G-shot procedures, hyaluronic acid injections into the labia majora and vagina, genital whitening treatments, thread lifting, carboxytherapy, and mesotherapy. Additionally, recent advancements such as SVF (stromal vascular fraction) with stem cells, micro-fat grafting, and nanofat applications are regenerative and functional methods used for treatment purposes.
In ISAGSS genital aesthetic surgery courses, participating physicians can observe and apply both surgical and non-surgical procedures firsthand under the guidance of a mentor.
Genital Aesthetic Hands-On Training in Turkey
ISAGSS hands-on genital aesthetic courses in Turkey are held two to three times a year. These courses typically follow an intensive three-day program. The first day consists of didactic presentations in a conference room at a five-star hotel, lasting from early morning until late evening. The second and third days take place at a partner hospital, where live surgeries are performed. These surgeries generally combine surgical and non-surgical procedures, allowing each participant to observe various techniques.
What is Hands-On Training?
In ISAGSS genital aesthetic training, surgeries are conducted in a “hands-on” manner. This means that each physician actively participates in the operations, under the guidance of a mentor, in a sterile environment. The goal is not only to observe but to actively engage in the surgeries and learn by doing. Hands-on training is the most effective method of learning!
The Most Comprehensive Courses in Europe and the Middle East
ISAGSS hands-on courses are the most comprehensive and scientific training programs in Europe and the Middle East. While it is difficult to participate in or assist in surgeries in a sterile environment in many parts of Europe and the U.S., ISAGSS offers numerous opportunities for participants.
